Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of staff development programmes, their planning and implementation on work’s performance of lecturers in Malaysian teachers’ Colleges.
188 lecturer of Institut Perguruan Darulaman, Jitra, Kedah and Maktab Perguruan Sultan Abdul Halim, Sg. Petani, Kedah were used as research sampling. Data were collected from the lecturers using a set of questionaire. The questionaire was divided into two parts; part one has-five demographic questions and part two consists of 15 questions on Staff development programmes plus another 19 questions on staff performance.
All data collected were totaled up and analysed using Pearson Correlation system based on SPSS sqftware version 9.5 windows in order to get their frequency, percentage, mode and median.
Discussion and conclusion made were limited within the constraint of study and procedures. However, with recommendations provided to improve the quality of
research, this study could be a basis-for futher studies in the-future.
