Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the relationship between organizational climate and job performance of supporting staffs of Public Works Department (JKR), Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Data was gathered from 80 respondents consisting of technical and nontechnical supporting staffs using self-administered questionnaires. The study discovered that the organizational climate of JKR was positively correlated to job performance of its stats. The study also showed the level of job performance as perceived by the supporting staffs was high. The identity and support dimensions were positively and moderately related with the respondent’s job performance. Job performance of the respondents could be enhanced by inculcating the sense of loyalty and proud to work in the organization and in-group.
The study suggested that the management of KR should concentrate on enhancing the conflict and risk dimension whilst improving the dimension of accountability, reward, individual responsibility and work pressure.
