Abstract
Globalization and area autonomy give the opportunity and challenge for every region/ area, inclusive of Java Island (West Java Province, Central Java Province, and East
Java Province). One of opportunity and challenge that is in the case of attracting foreign investor so that ready to inculcate its investment to Java Island. The fact that
happened direct foreign investment / FDI to every province in Indonesia and also Java Island different each other. To analyze this fact is used by theory of investment and factors influencing of FDI Inflow into Java Island. From various existing investment theory only theory Griffin and Pustay (2005), Mahoney, Trigg, Griffin, and Pustay (1998) and theory eclectic from Dunning that used and focused at just problem Location advantage. And also to discus is needed by a relevant literature with this title. The aim of this Research is (i) to study the critical factors affecting the success of direct foreign direct investment / FDI Inflow into Java Island with analyzed by F test and t test (ii) to know the correlation between variable affecting the success of foreign direct investment / FDI Inflow into Java Island, (iii) to study what location factor represent the factor affecting the success of foreign direct investment / FDI Inflow into Java Island and productivity area / PDRB (Product Domestic Regional Bruto), UMP (State Minimum Wage ), population, inflation, and incentive. This research needed primary data and secondary data. Primary data that needed about conducted effort Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal / BKPM to attract foreign investors. Secondary data needed about FDI, population, PDRB, UMP, and Inflation. Analyze method used by Doubled Linear Regression which changed into Logarithm form by using analysis of ANOVA and MANOVA and also analyze the correlation between variable affecting the success of foreign direct investment / FDI Inflow into Java Island. Result of obtained research: (1) From F test seen by that critical factors affecting the success of Foreign direct Investment / FDI Inflow into Java Island is population, UMP, productivity area, inflation, incentive and location. (2) Result from t test is variable affecting the success of Foreign direct Investment / FDI Inflow into Java Island by individual that is population variable, productivity variable, and inflation variable. (3) location variable represent the factor which require to be paid attention to by foreign investor in Java Island. The location which require to be considered among other things is location having specific local resources, having good network, and existence of agglomeration economics.
