Abstract
The purpose of this dissertation is to explain the activities in Malaysian MNEs, to examine the drivers that impelling and encouraging Malaysian MNEs to spring and to analyze the risk and challenges that they faces in their international expansion. Besides that, this dissertation also aims to develop a springboard perspective in international expansion of Malaysian MNEs which been adapted from Emerging Market Multinational Corporation (EM MNEs) springboard perspectives. Furthermore, this dissertation also examine some theories of international expansion which is related to several factors such as activities of EM MNEs, motivation or drivers in internalization, and the challenges factors faces by MNEs. In order to portray a clear picture about Malaysian MNEs springboard perspectives, this dissertation had attempt to analyze nine of Malaysian MNEs such as Scomi Group Berhad, YTL Corporation, UMW Holdings Berhad, Eng Technology, Tong Guan Industries Berhad, UEM Builder Berhad , Sime Darby, Petronas, and Telekom Malaysia (TM) that generally explain about background of company, company internalization, activities, drivers factors that impelling and encouraging them to spring and lastly, risk and challenges that the faces in international expansion, as a finding. As a result, the framework of international expansion of Malaysian MNEs; A springboard perspective had been design.
