Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between individual factor, training design and work environment with transfer of training among the JKR’s
staff. This study also aimed at determining whether individual factor, training design and work environment dimensions which are personality, ability, motivation,
learning principles, arrangement of learning activities, contents of the training, organizational support and opportunities to apply knowledge predict the variance in
transfer of training among the Professional and Management staffs in JKR. Out of 450 questionnaires distributed, only 228 respondents returned the questionnaires. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 17. The result shows that the levels of transfer of training are high. Analysis using Pearson correlation was used to determine the strength of the relationship between each dimensions of dependent variable and independent variables. The finding showed that individual factor, training design and work environment were positively related to the transfer of training. In addition, multiple regression analysis shows that only motivation, learning principles and opportunities to apply knowledge significantly can influence transfer of training with the value of R2 is 0.459. Therefore, JKR should stress on motivation, learning principles and opportunities to
apply knowledge in order to enhance transfer of training among the staff.
