Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the organizational commitment dan leadership towards job performance among Royal Malaysian Customs, Melaka officers. This study involves 250 respondents from custom officers, Royal Malaysian Customs, Melaka. The study also aims to determining whether organizational commitment dimensions which are affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment, and leadership dimensions which are structure leadership, human resource leadership, politics leadership and symbolic leadership predict the variance in job performance. Out of 250 questionnaires distributed, a total of 205 questionnaires were returned. The data was analyzed using: Statistical Package for Social Science” SPSS version 16. The result shows that the level of supervisor’s leadership are high and level of organizational commitment are moderate. Analysis using Pearson correlation indicates that organizational commitment and leadership have a significant correlation with job performance. Therefore, the management of Royal Malaysia Custom, Melaka should stress on leadership in order to enhance job performance among their staff.
