Abstract

This study attempts to shed light on economic growth in Malaysia by seeking to understand the determinant factors of economic growth (Real gross domestic product) for the year 1980 to 2009, with the focus on other independent variables (Government consumption, Inflation rate, exchange rate, and export). Results of this study concluded that the variables exports has significant negatively, influence on real Gross Domestic product while government consumption has significant positive impact on real Gross Domestic product respectively. The variables associated with the exchange rate and inflation appears not to play a significant role in determining Real Gross Domestic product.
