Abstract

A study of perception and styles of handling conflict in organization is done among the secondary school administrators. The administrators in this context are the principles, the academic and the student affairs senior assistant. In this study, 56 administrators were chosen to be the respondent. The objective of this study is to identify out whether there is an influence of gender, age and number of years in service on the perception and style of handling conflict in organization. Thomas and Kilmann (1978) model is used in this study. The data was collected using survey questionnaire and SPSS package version 10.0 were used for analysis. The outcomes of the analysis shows that there is no influence of gender, age and a number of years in service to the perception and styles of handling conflict among the administrators of secondary school in Perlis.
