Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between the leadership style of serving with the Excellent Principal and the satisfaction of teachers' work among the secondary school teachers in the district of Kuala Krai, Kelantan. The leadership style of serving with the Excellent Principal is being analyzed using Server Leadership Assessment Instrument (SLAI) by Robert S. Dennis (2005) and the satisfaction of teachers' work is being analyzed using the Teaching Satisfaction Scale (TSS) by Wing-Tung Au (2006). The data collected from 170 respondents through the five-point scale questionnaire. Then, the data is being analyzed using SPSS Version 12.0. Four main hypotheses have been tested using the Pearson Correlation, T-Test and ANOVA. The findings of research show that there are significant positive relationship between the leadership construct of serving with Excellent Principal and the satisfaction of teachers' work. Ho1 Relationship between the leadership of serving with Excellent Principal and the satisfaction of teachers' work based on gender, free T-sample test is not significant t(168) = 0.19, p>0.5). Ho2 Relationship between the leadership of serving with Excellent Principal and the satisfaction of teachers' work based on age using the ANOVA Test, F(3, 116) = 1.16, P > 0.05). Ho 3 Relationship between the leadership of serving with Excellent Principal and the satisfaction of teachers' work based on the period of time served with the current Principal using the ANOVA Test F(4, 170) = 1.06, p0.05) and Ho4 Relationship between the leadership of Excellent Principal and the satisfaction of teachers' work using the Pearson Correlation (r=. 21, p< .05) shows that there is positive and significant relationship.
