Abstract

This research is conducted to determine the communication network among the estate employees of Kumpulan Ladang-Ladang Perbadanan Kedah Sdn Bhd. 100 respondents have been selected, out of which are from Ladang Laka Temin, Ladang Bukit Perak Utara and Ladang Bukit Perak Selatan. Three communication models are used as guidance for this research i.e. Distribution Model (Shannon & Weaver, 1949),
Psychological Model (Westley & Mac Lean, 1957), Sociological Model (Railey & Railey, 1959 and Ball-Rokeach & De Fluer, 1976). The data compiled has been analysed using SPSS-X programme in descriptive and inference types. The research indicates that three main independent
variables influences the communication network among the respondents i.e. positions (p=0.049), academic qualifications (p=0.007) and genders (p=0.031). While for variables such as etnics (p=0.300) and income (p=0.170) there is no communications exits. Therefore other variables
such as culture, political differences, religion, age, origins and workload should be taken into considerations in future researches.
