Penggunaan Internet Di Kalangan Kakitangan Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu

Internet is widely used in various fields such as education, business and management. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the Internet usage among the
Terengganu state civil servants. The study was carried out due to the lack of specific studies of the Internet usage in civil service. The high cost involved in preparing
information technology facilities made the study essential. The tool used in the survey was questionaires. About 268 sample was selected out of 863 populations.
Those were civil servants under the Terengganu state government from various categories. Some of the findings of this study show that young employees are more
interested in using Internet compared to the older employees. However, formal Internet training does not increase percentage used of Internet. Nevertheless, a
finding of this study shows that the percentage used of Internet at office slightly higher than at home. The study also highlights a positive perception regarding the
usage of Internet in offices that contributed towards increased efficiency and work performance. In addition, gender factor did not influence the level of Internet usage. Overall, among the government staff in Terengganu, the study found that the level of Internet usage was still low. Therefore, efforts should make to hightlight the real
capability of Internet. Besides, access to the Internet should be made easier to the staff.
