Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine job satisfaction generally among teachers in Sekolah Menengah Derma after the implementation of TQM towards achieving ISO 9002 certificate. Factors that were taken into account for this research were sex, age, year of service, salary and allowance, working environment, training and recognition, collegue and quality managment.
To achieve the objective of this research, data was collected by issuing questionnaires to 72 teachers in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Derma. This type of research was known as Organizational Climate Description Questionnaire to determine the level of job satisfaction. T-test and one-way ANOVA were used to test differences. While Pearson ‘r’ test was used to test correlation. All statistic tests were carried out at a significant level of p < 0.05.
The result of the research showed that 57 teachers (79.1%) obtained high satisfaction, 14 teachers (19.5%) obtained middle satisfaction and a teacher (1.4%) had a low satisfaction. General mean score of job satisfaction was 12.167 which showed that job satisfaction was high. The result of the research showed that only collegue factor and training and recognition had significant with job satisfaction. Other factors like sex, age, year of service, salary and allowance, working environment and quality management did not determine job satisfaction after the implementation of TQM. According to the correlation analysis only training and recognition factors could greatly influent teacher’s job satisfaction after
implementation of TQM.
