Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the influence of selected demographic factors which are, the gender, experience, parental socioeconomic background and sociological environment (teachers and peers) toward the style leadership style of fully residential school students. The leadership style is based on two dimensions initiating structure and consideration.
A total of 184 questionnaire has been distributed to the
respondents who are the prefect of the fully residential school. All respondent has successfully completed and submitted their response. The data that has been collected is analyzed using descriptive
statistic by employing Correlation’s Coefficient Method (Pearson).
The instrument of the research has been modified based on
Leadership Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ), which involves 34 items utilizing the likert scale which reliability of 77.
Findings of the research indicate that there is a significance correlation between the initiating structure leadership style with the sociological environment of respondents. These indicate that the sociological environment of the student that involves teachers and
peers has an influence toward the overall leadership style of the respondents.
However for gender, experience and parental socioeconomic
background factors, there is no real significance relationship toward the leadership style of the students.
