Abstract
This study's intent is to observe the relation and the influence of socialization process factors among the academic staff at the Kolej Matrikulasi Perlis (KMP) and Kolej Matrikulasi Pulau Pinang (KMPP). The independent variables are demographic characteristics and socialization process factors such as colleague's support, administrative endorsement, self-adjustment techniques and role clarity. The dependent variable is the socialization period. Altogether 118 academic staff became the sample for this study. Data obtained was using
questionnaires which contained items that were based on a number of models suggested by past researchers. This study uses descriptive and parametric statistics to analyze the data, mainly t-test, ANOVA, correlation and regression. The result of this study shows that administrative endorsement, colleague's support and role clarity factors
are correlated with the socialization period, while the other dependent variables, self-adjustment technique, is found not to be significantly correlated with the dependent variable.
