Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship
between strategic planning and small-medium industry (SMI) performance. Past studies had shown that there were different views on the effects of strategic planning on firm’s performance. Methodology . This study involved descriptive research, which involved 60 SMI entrepreneurs whom were selected randomly. Out of this questionaires, only 48 could be used for analysis using crosstabulation and correlation analysis. Findings. It was found that the was no significant relationship between strategic planning and SMl’s performance. On the other hand, the study had shown that firm size was a decisive factor which influences firm’s performance. Conclusions and recommendations. The strategic planning has no important relationship with SMl’s performance. In other words SMI firms have to merge among them to increase their size so as
to gain better performance and to be more competitive in future market.
