Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between safety management practices and safety compliance behavior among hotel employees in the state of Kedah. The safety management practices are management commitment, safety training, safety communication and feedback, employee involvement, safety rules and procedures, and safety promotion policies. This study uses the quantitative method, a questionnaire taken from previous studies applied in this research. A total of 160 hotel employees were involved in answering the questionnaire distributed to three hotels at Alor Setar, Kedah, to collect data for this study. For the data analysis, this study has been using descriptive statistics via IBM SPSS Statistics Version 26. Among all dimensions in safety management practices, three dimensions have a significant relationship with hotel employees' safety compliance behavior: safety rules and procedures, management commitment, and employee involvement. In the meantime, the other three dimensions were not having significant with safety compliance behavior among hotel employees, and that is safety training, safety communication and feedback, and safety promotion policies. Lastly, there were discussions about contribution in this study and its implications, including suggestions for future researchers.
