Abstract
This study examines the work-related stress and the relationship with working environment, interpersonal relationship and job satisfaction among Bangladeshi construction workers. In addition, this study to determine which of the three variables namely working environment, interpersonal relationship and job satisfaction leads more to work-related stress. Cross-sectional study and convenient sampling method were used in this study. The data were collected from 108 respondent from MJC Precast Sdn. Bhd. using a structured questionnaire with and then were analyzed using SPSS Version 26.0 software. Comparison and correlation test were performed on the
collected data. The result revealed that most respondents had medium level of workrelated stress, level of satisfaction on the working environment, level on the satisfaction on the interpersonal relationship and job satisfaction. Correlation of the variables with the sociodemographic profile shows that age is significantly related to
working environment and interpersonal relationship, working experiences is significantly related to working environment, interpersonal relationship and job satisfaction, marital status has significant relationship with all the variables except for job satisfaction, and only interpersonal relationship have significant relationship with the monthly income. Lastly, only interpersonal relationships are significantly correlated with the work-related stress among the Bangladeshi construction workers which shows that the working relationship plays an important role. The finding from
this study can be used as reference for the construction companies with foreign workers to reduce the occurrence of work-related stress among the foreign construction by focused on the contributing factors which indirectly can reduce the presence of disorder that related to works.
