Abstract

This research is carried out to study the relationship between the safety management practice and safety behaviour. Safety management practice discussed in this study involves six essential elements which are management commitment, safety practice,
safety communication and responses, safety rules and procedures, employees’ involvement as well as safety promotion policy. The method used to gather the data is quantitative method in which the questionnaires were distributed among the respondents via their official email of Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM). The respondents are the police officers who work in Ibu Pejabat Polis Bukit Aman,
Kuala Lumpur. The 387 respondents, who involved in this research, responded to the questionnaires by using Google Form application. The data then was analysed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 26 Version software. The result from
the multiple linear regression analysis illustrates that there are 2 elements which are management commitment and employees’ involvement show significant relationship towards safety behaviour. Besides, the other four elements which are safety practice,
safety promotion policy, safety communication and responses as well as safety rules and procedures do not establish any significant to safety behaviour. The other findings, the discussion on the relationship between dependent and independent variables, the
shortcoming in carrying out the research as well as the recommendation for next research are also discussed in this study.
