Abstract

Negative behaviour among our students is still worrying nowadays. Negative behaviour that has been focused in this study are disrespect to their teacher, parents and fighting with their peer. These kind of negative behaviour need a lot of commitment from all in order to reduce it. This study was carried out to assess the effectiveness of Rational Emotive Behaviour Module (REBTM Module) on these negative behaviour among secondary students using the comparison between 3 score of Pre Test, Pre Test 1 and Post Test of Negative Behaviour questionnaire (IPAM). The subjects were selected through purposive sampling method. 64 subjects comprising of pupils form four were randomly assigned to two groups with one group as treatment group and one group as a control. The module was conducted in nine session treatment and ANOVA Repeated Measure was used to analyse the data. The results of this study showed that the REBTM Module was significantly affected in, 1) reduce the level of negative behaviour, 2) reduce the level of negative behaviour towards parent, 3) reduce the level of negative behaviour toward peers, 4) reduce the level of negative behaviour towards teacher and 5) no influence of gender factors in the score of negative behaviour. For conclusion, this study showed that REBTM Module is effectively reducing negative behaviour among students. Most of techniques and activities in this module could help students manage their own emotion and feeling rationaly.
