Abstract

In this age of globalisation, online businesses are growing popularity and positive reception from the public. Of course, young people are the ones who are being more courageous in their attempts to establish an online business. The purpose of this research is to investigate the characteristics that contribute to the success of internet businesses owned by students attending universities in the Klang Valley region. In the course of this exploratory research, 101 different sets of questionnaires were handed out to students attending universities in the states of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The students were selected by a process known as sampling at convenient times. A questionnaire was utilised as the instrument of investigation. During the course of the investigation of the results, both inductive and descriptive research approaches were used. The findings showed that the aspects that have the most impact on the students' ability to run a successful online businesses are their marketing abilities, understanding of financial management, and ability to manage their time effectively, in addition to their use of mobile apps.
