Abstract
This thesis explores the relationship between independent variables such as leadership, training and development, compensation, and work environment, and employee engagement among engineers in selected Malaysian medical device manufacturing companies. The study uses a quantitative approach to test the hypotheses using data collected from 174 engineers. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant relationship between leadership and employee engagement, training and development and employee engagement, compensation and employee engagement, and work environment and employee engagement. The study highlights the importance of these independent variables in promoting employee engagement in the medical device manufacturing industry. The findings of this study have significant implications for industry practitioners and policymakers, particularly in the area of human resource management. This study contributes to the existing literature on employee engagement by providing empirical evidence from the medical device manufacturing industry in Malaysia
