Abstract

Training plays a crucial role in enhancing employee performance, particularly in the retail sector. A likely reason is that continuous skill development is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This study examines the perception of effectiveness of various training methods such as Classroom Training, E-learning, On-the-Job Training in improving retail employee performance. The research employs a quantitative approach, using survey data collected from one hundred twenty-six retail employees by using random sampling methods to assess the impact of these training methods on job performance. The data collected has been analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 26. The classroom training was found to be most effective in enhancing employee performance. The study also suggests that training is a key driver of job efficiency in the retail industry. Despite these positive outcomes, the study identifies challenges such as variations in training perception and employee engagement levels, particularly in On-the-Job Training. The study concludes that a structured and diversified training approach, integrating both theoretical and practical learning, is essential for optimizing retail employee performance. Recommendations include customized training programs, increased managerial support, and enhanced digital learning tools to ensure continuous professional development in the retail sector
