A model for cloud based electronic health adoption among it professionals in Saudi Arabia Hospitals

The healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia is undergoing a pivotal transformation driven by the integration of advanced technologies, notably cloud computing, to enhance operational efficiency, accessibility, and the quality of medical care. This study investigates the factors influencing cloud computing adoption in the Saudi Arabian e-health sector: the moderating effect of gender segregation, within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 304 healthcare professionals through structured questionnaires and analyzed with PLS-SEM. The findings revealed that performance expectancy and facilitating conditions are positively significantly to cloud computing adoption. However, social influence revealed negative significant effect on cloud computing adoption suggesting that regulation and policies may hinder cloud computing adoption decisions.. Moreover, gender segregation demonstrates a direct positive significance on adoption of cloud computing, indicating that cultural norms can shape technology acceptance in healthcare organizations. Moderation analysis further reveals that gender segregation significantly moderates the relationship between effort expectancy, facilitating condition and cloud computing adoption, while no significant moderating effects are observed for performance expectancy and social influence. The study contributes to the literature on e-health innovation by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework with cultural considerations. The study recommends the need for policymakers and healthcare managers to align cloud computing strategies with organizational support mechanisms and cultural sensitivities to accelerate adoption in Saudi Arabia
