Career development in educational field is an important factor should be considered as we head away to the next millenium. For an organization to be more effective, productive and excellence, not only the student factor is
important, but also the staff morale should be taken care of ; how to motivate them in giving out their services to the fullest capacity with
dedication and determination. This study tried to analyze the factors that influence educator promotional opportunity, specifically the Graduate Education Service Officer (GESO). The main objective of this study was to
find out the most influencing factor to educator promotional opportunity. The study involved 248 GESO of Pasir Mas District, in Kelantan State. The variable scores; percentage, mean, median and mode were analyzed using descriptive statistics, whereby hypotheses testing were done using Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regression. The results indicated a very significant relationship (at 99 % degree of confidence) between skills,
experience, attainment and political tactics to promotions. The influencing effect of these factors towards promotions was 80.1 %. Sex also had its effect on promotional opportunity. However, other demographic
characteristics; age, duration of services, position and salary increment did not influence promotional opportunity. This study was able to suggest some suitable and practical development of educational system in the era of globalization is depending on the development of its line of managers.
