Abstract
The Return to Work Program was introduced to assist workers with disabilities to return to work. The high motivation level among Insured Persons who participate in this program is essential to the program’s success. The purpose of this research is to (i) analyze demographic characteristics, disability, motivation to return to work, levels of anxiety, and workers interest in participating in the Return to Work program; and (ii) examine the tendency of workers with disabilities to participate in the Return to Work program and (iii) examine the factors of age, income, employment status, current employment status, disability, motivation to return to work, guidance, and interest in Return to Work program that encourages workers to join this Return to Work programme. The design for this research is descriptive. A total of 281 people from the population of 787 has been chosen as respondents. Collection of information is in the form of survey where this research focuses on workers with disabilities in the Klang Valley. The outcome of the research is analyzed descriptively using multiple linear regression by using the SPSS Software. The findings of this research indicate that workers with disabilities has a high likelihood to participate in the Return to Work Program. Seven variables have been used to measure the factors with regards to the motivation of Insured Persons to Return to Work. As a result, this research finds that all variables have a positive relationship and significant. In conclusion, the results of this study found that factors such as age, motivation and interest had a significant influence on the level of inclination of the disabled workers to participate in the Return to Work program. On the contrary, factors such as period of disability number of dependents, total income, level of anxiety were found to have no significant relationship with the tendency to return to work. Suggestions for better improvements were also discussed.
