Abstract

Safety performance reflects the status of an organization's safety goals and current image. Workplace safety performance are influenced by the employees’ behavioral and attitude’s during performing safety practices. This study aims to examine the relationship between safety management practices and safety performance. The questionnaire was applied for data collection with 121 respondents from emergency department staff. Data were analyzed using “Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25. Descriptive analysis show the mean values at the moderate level. Correlation analysis revealed that there were positive relationship between safety performances and safety management practice. While regression analysis depicted that only safety training and employee engagement that were significantly related to safety performance. 47 percent of safety performance were explained by the safety training and employees’ engagement at the workplace. Therefore, the management should be emphasized the safety training module and employee involvement in all safety activities for improving safety performance among the staff at Emergency Department Shah Alam hospital.
