Abstract
Research indicates that university and college students, especially international students, are at higher risk of experiencing mental health problems than other populations during the (COVID 1-9) pandemic. This study examines the relationship between four independent variables of loneliness, stress, anxiety, and depression with UUM international students’ mental health during the pandemic. A survey on 326 international students of Universiti Utara Malaysia was carried out to obtain the data for the study. The usable responses of 226 were analyzed using SPSS version 24 involving descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression. The result reveals there is a significant relationship between loneliness, stress, depression, and mental health, but there is no significant relationship between anxiety and mental health. Finally, implications, limitations of the study, recommendations, and conclusion were also highlighted.
