Abstract
Work stress is a significant threat to employees in the manufacturing industry. Researchers tend to study stress factors in the workplace and the influence of these stress factors on
employees' performance through this problem. This study aims to examine the relationship between quantitative job demands, role conflicts, and strain that are stress factors on workers' work performance in the manufacturing industry in Malaysia. This study was conducted in Bayan Lepas district, Penang. Besides, the study subject is manufacturing employees, and the method used to complete this project is through a questionnaire of 298 respondents. The findings indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between role conflicts and strain. The result also shows not a significant correlation between quantitative job demands and job performance. However, manufacturing workers' selection is still not generalized as there are many industries with a different scope of job responsibilities that require employment under stress.
