Abstract

Over the decades, tourism industry contributed significantly towards economic growth of Malaysia. The tourism is largely depends on the Malaysia‟s beautiful asset and clean environment. However, high number of customers staying at the hotel can produce tons of waste, high consumption of energy and water. To preserve the environment implementation of green practices is a step to cope with this problem.
Realizing this issue, the researcher conducts the study on Langkawi Resort and Spa hotel. This study sought to achieve two main objectives that are first, to determine to what extent the green practices being applied in the hotel, and secondly to identify the contribution of the green practices to the environment, economic and society. The data was collected through a semi-structured interview with the company‟s owner, which comprised of open-ended questions, as well as participant observation and documents review. The findings reveal that Frangipani Langkawi Resort and Spa
has practices green and the hotel has earned positive image from visitors. Furthermore, the green practices implementation gives positive impact towards environment, economy and society.
