Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the factors influencing job satisfaction among utility workers at Klang Valley. This study aims to find out the relationship between co-worker’s relationship, compensation and job satisfaction especially at urban area such as Klang Valley. In researcher’s knowledge, there is no research has been conducted in this area yet. Co-worker’s relationship can be divided into two conditions which are condition of physical and social
relationship. Meanwhile, compensation known as remuneration which is a program constructed carefully and truthful by company so that this program is able to boost employee's satisfaction. This study is using quantitative analysis and choosing respondent by convenient sampling. About 300 respondents are selected to answer
questionnaires. This research is used MSQ 20- short items version to answer job satisfaction related questions. 5-Likert Scale is used to answer all questions related to dependent variable and independent variables using Statistical Package for Sosial (SPSS) Version 25.0. The value showed that the questionnaires used in this study is
homogenous and co-worker’s relationship and compensation suitable enough to be used as research instrument. This study found there is positive relationship between co-worker’s relationship and job satisfaction among workers of utility company. The research findings
could benefit both organization and other future researchers who interested explore on job satisfaction knowledge. The organization will be able to tackle aspects of job satisfaction among utility company. This particular study provides insights into correlation between job satisfaction and its factors within utility industry. Utility workers play significant role in helping fulfil Malaysian community demands, country's development. Job satisfaction and their performance become essential in the field of utility industry.
