The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of colleagues concerning the role of the history departmental heads in the secondary school. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the aspects that have been taken are supervision and administrative duties, curriculum development, meeting and office operations and demographic factors (school grade, experiments, academic
qualification and status of job). The study is also to identify which of among the seven variable influences the role of history departmental heads? The respondents of the study are social departmental heads, history departmental
heads, and the history teachers. Ten grades A secondary schools in Kulim/Bandar Bahru District were selected for this study. The samples consisted of 10 social departmental heads, 10 history departmental heads and 80 history teachers were selected to achieve the purpose of the study. The data were collected through 25 items questionnaires to measure the variables. A pilot test was carried out to
ensure the reliability of the instrument with gives Cronbah’s Alfa = 0.7712. The data obtained were analyzed using the one-way ANOVA and Peasons Correlation by the Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) Version 7.5 . The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant relationship in perception among secondary schools colleagues concerning the role of the
secondary school history departmental heads in supervision and administration duties with curriculum development, meeting and office the operation at Kulim/Bandar Bahru District.
