Abstract
Aging is not simply a later life. Aging is a life-long event from the time of birth to infancy, childhood and adolescence to adulthood and onward towards maturity. It is a gradual process of change over the course of time. The population as a whole is aging and this can be
seen from the increase in the percentage in the proportion of the elderly in the total world population. The aim of this study was to establish whether there was such a quality in the activities of daily living of the elderly and to suggest suitable and appropriate programs for the elderly. The study was conducted within an institution in Malacca and the sample size was 100 respondents. The study has indicated that there are many issues surrounding the elderly and this needs special programs.
