Achieving the organization’s goals depends extensively on the individual employee performance. In other words, a good employee performance is necessary for the organization, since the success of the organisation is dependent upon the employee’s creativity, innovation, and commitment. Therefore, it is quite necessary to understand as to what extent employees have been successful at their jobs towards achievement of their goal. This study is conducted with the intention to capture factors that might influence employee performance. The study examines the direct relationship between job stress, workload and work environment and employee performance. A total of 200 questionnaire were distributed to respondent through online. Response rate was 74%, where a total of 148 were received. In this study, hypotheses for direct effect were tested using multiple regression analyses. Results showed that only job stress was significantly positively related to employee performance. The findings indicate that employee performance can be improved by imposing certain amount of stress that are manageable by the employees. In this study, stress seems to help employee to gather and use resources to meet the job requirements, which indirectly helps to increase performance.
