Abstract

The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the landscape of various communities around the world and disrupted their daily activities and impacted in various service areas. In this regard, the health service sector is also affected especially in clinical aspects, management and human resources. The main purpose of this study is to study the influence of workload and work environment on work stress among Assistant Medical Officers in Hospital Melaka. For data collection, approximately 166 sets of questionnaires were distributed to Assistant Medical Officers at Melaka Hospital. Then, the data was analysed using IBM SPSS version 26. The results obtained through analysis showed that workload and work environment have a positive relationship with work stress. With this finding, it can help provide useful information to the Melaka Hospital management regarding employee well-being. This study also suggests policies that hospitals should consider to improve the effectiveness of post-Covid-19 policies and management.
