Abstract

These days, the phenomena of employee performance become a major issue for management all around the world since it is a fundamental element influencing organizational effectiveness and competitiveness in era of technological development. Every educator in Malaysia's higher education system is responsible for upholding and guaranteeing the sector's quality and standards. Even though the education industry is still of high quality, it faces several obstacles, including shifting curriculum standards, advancements in technology, and determining social expectations. The main objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between workload, work-life balance, training, and emotional intelligence with employee performance in private higher education sector in Klang Valley Malaysia. The Social Exchange Theory (SET) was used in this study to discussed the four independent variables in the study which is Workload, work-life balance, training, and emotional intelligence. Using a random sampling technique, the study's quantitative research method of primary sources was used to gather data from 252 private higher education staff members who participated as respondents. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to analyse the data. Several statistical methods, including regression analysis (also known as multiple regression analysis), descriptive variable analysis, normality analysis, reliability analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis (also known as Pearson Correlation Analysis), were used to examine the data. The findings showed a favorable relationship between employee performance and work-life balance, employee engagement, and job satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, the organization or the human resources department should identify the important elements that might influence employee performance and decide on the best course of action to improve it.
