Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the hiring system of staff selection in Malaysian Public Universities. The researcher used a qualitative method of semi structured interview as the main research design. The questions have been designed in advance and the questions are dependent on the respondents' situation. The findings show that the three public universities still use recruitment and selection system manually for academic and non-academics positions, they have switched to a system-based application (online system). By implication, the use of the on line system is as a method and a potential tool for recruiting personnel selection than using manual methods.
