Abstract

This study use the Data Envelopment Analysis (DE:A) technique to measure the relative efficiency of BBA Kedah water treatment plants. Before this, many other techniques
have been used by BBA Kedah to measure the water treatment plant efficiency, but these technique still has its own weaknesses. DEPi measures the relative efficiency for
each water treatment plant based on the resources which are used in operating water treatment plants to produce quality, clean and safe water to be supplied to the consumers in Kedah. Inputs and outputs which are used in this study are from the some type but differed in terms of their quantities. DEA model is generate through linear
program~ning technique, to measure the relative efiiciency of water treatment plant and the solution for that particular model was obtained using the LINDO software. Besides, this study also discussed the basic principles of DEA, its model and how the DEA could help BBA Kedah in planning to increase the relative efficiency score for each inefficient water treatment plant.
