Abstract
Safety management practices play a very important role in safety behaviour of employees and reduce the rate of accidents in workplace. A quantitative study was conducted among 125 respondents consisting of traffic enforcement officers of various
ranks to examine the relationship between safety management practices and safety behaviour. Data was collected using a questionnaire containing 45 items on a 5 -point Likert scale and analyzed with SPSS software version 27. Descriptive analysis showed that the six dimensions of safety management (managerial commitment, safety training, employee involvement, safety feedback and communication, safety procedures and rules, safety promotion policy) are being practiced at a high level. Multiple regression test found that safety behaviour had significant relationship with employee involvement, safety feedback and communication as well as safety procedures and rules. The findings of this study have practical implications for the improvement of safety management practices to improve safety behaviour among
traffic enforcement officers
