Abstract
Lean management has emerged as a vital strategy in enhancing operational efficiency and waste reduction, particularly within the logistics sector. This study explores the factors influencing lean management practices in a logistics company in Penang, Malaysia. Guided by the Theory the of Planned Behavior (TPB), the research focuses on three key constructs attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control as independent variables affecting behavioral intention. A quantitative research approach was employed, using a standardized questionnaire distributed to 99 logistics employees. Reliability was ensured through a pilot test, with all constructs recording acceptable Cronbach’s alpha values. Descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression techniques were used to analyze the data. The findings reveal that all three TPB constructs significantly influence the intention to adopt lean practices, with perceived behavioral control showing the strongest predictive power. These results suggest that employees are more inclined to engage in lean practices when they feel empowered and supported in their roles. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on lean implementation by emphasizing the importance of psychological and social readiness. It offers valuable insights for logistics organizations aiming to foster a lean culture and improve operational outcomes through employee engagement and behavioral alignment
