Abstract

Sustainability reporting is becoming an essential tool for businesses to show their commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values in the modern corporate climate. With a comparative examination of three prominent oil and gas companies Petronas, ExxonMobil, and Shell this study examines the evaluation of sustainability reporting and its impact on strategic financial performance. This research examines the ways in which these companies describe their sustainability practices, the essential sustainability reporting practices that are linked to financial performance, and the assessment of sustainability impacts on strategic financial outcomes through an extensive analysis of sustainability reports and data. This study offers important insights into the relationship between sustainability and financial success by utilizing the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) methodology. The results add to the literature on corporate sustainability and provide useful guidance for combining strategic financial management with sustainability reporting in the oil and gas sector. In order to improve the overall sustainability performance and financial viability of multinational organizations, this research emphasizes the significance of sustainability, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder involvement
