Abstract

Despite existing safety measures, full compliance remains a challenge, contributing to workplace accidents locally and globally. The research aims to address gaps in understanding the relationships between these key factors and their influence on fostering a culture of safety compliance within the manufacturing sector. Employing a quantitative research methodology, data were collected through structured questionnaires from 169 employees selected via simple random sampling. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including multiple regression using SPSS software, were conducted to assess the influence of the independent variables on safety compliance. The results indicated that employees demonstrated a high level of safety compliance. Regression analysis revealed that safety training had a significant positive effect on safety compliance, while management commitment and safety rules and procedures did not show a significant effect. This finding suggests that although organizational safety policies and managerial support are present, effective and practical safety training plays a more critical role in influencing employees’ compliance behaviour in the studied organization. The findings provide important practical implications for management by highlighting the need to prioritize continuous, job-specific, and engaging safety training programs to enhance safety compliance. From a theoretical perspective, this study contributes to the occupational safety literature by demonstrating that not all organizational safety factors exert equal influence on safety compliance. Overall, the study offers valuable insights for improving safety performance in the electronic manufacturing sector.
