Abstract
Workplace happiness is an important factor influencing organisational productivity and effectiveness, particularly within the healthcare sector. This factor has a significant impact on Medical Assistant Officers in carrying out daily duties that require high levels of physical and emotional commitment. This study aims to examine the relationship between workplace happiness and transformational leadership, meaningful work, and workplace friendship within a healthcare organisational context. The objectives of the study are to identify the level of workplace happiness among Medical Assistant Officers and to assess the levels of transformational leadership, meaningful work, and workplace friendship. This study adopts a quantitative approach using a survey research design, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to selected respondents. The data were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27, employing both descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to evaluate the levels of the study variables and the strength of relationships among them. The findings indicate that the level of workplace happiness among Medical Assistant Officers is at a satisfactory level, while transformational leadership practices are rated from moderate to high. Correlation analysis further demonstrates a positive and significant relationship between workplace happiness and transformational leadership. Overall, this study reinforces that workplace happiness is a critical indicator of leadership effectiveness in healthcare organisations. Workplace happiness is particularly significant for Medical Assistant Officers as it enhances psychological well-being, job satisfaction, organisational commitment, and productivity, while reducing stress and the tendency for employee turnover.
