Abstract

Construction is one of the main industries in the United Arab Emirates that contributes to national economic development. A large portion of the economic expansion in the UAE is directly fuelled by the construction industry. It is widely recognised for its infrastructure development initiatives, encompassing expansive developments, transit networks, and skyscrapers, which necessitate prompt completion under rigorous timelines. To guarantee successful completion, these projects must be completed with adequate risk management procedures due to their fast pace, which carries inherent risks and obstacles. Managing risks in such circumstances necessitates a deep understanding of all variables that may impact risk management effectiveness. Therefore, this study examines the impact of technology adoption and stakeholder collaboration on risk management effectiveness in fast-track construction projects using knowledge sharing as a mediator. The study used a quantitative methodology in which data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire. Theories of diffusion of innovation, reasoning action, and planned behaviour were also employed in the study. SPSS software was used to assess the demographic information of the respondents, which was also performed at the initial stages of data analysis. PLS-SEM analysis has also been used to measure validity and reliability of data. The study showed that there is a significant relationship between technology adoption and stakeholder collaboration on risk management effectiveness in fast-track construction projects. Additionally, knowledge sharing significantly mediates the relationship between technology adoption and employees’ risk management effectiveness. The study's conclusions can help stakeholders to make well-informed decisions about innovations and technology investments
