Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between organizational culture and innovation towards performance of cooperative, with moderating effects of integration strategy. The study was using Balanced Scorecard concepts for measuring cooperative performance due to resources need to be integrated for cooperative improvement. Problems arise when one measure cooperative performance not as a whole and most of research found on cooperative performance is not based on Malaysian contexts. In addition, this study was
made for resources involvement in performance improvement and the relationship that may exist. This study using quantitative methods with population among 1373 cooperatives located in Perak, Malaysia. The findings received from only one representative for each cooperative to be tested. The sample size consists of 300 respondents of various backgrounds, various types of cooperatives and still in operation. A total of 124 or 41% completed questionnaires were tested in this study. Finding shows that there is no relationship between between organizational culture and cooperative performance. However, there is a significant relationship between innovation and cooperative performance. The study also found that integration strategy has been moderating the
relationship between organizational culture, innovation and cooperative performance. The
researcher suggest that future studies should be carried out throughout Malaysia in order to
get more accurate findings with more independent variables to be examine.
